In part three of the series, Brian Brawdy shares how his life experiences have shaped who he is today. He reveals his thoughts and feelings about his father’s suicide, the impact his grandfather had on his life and the loss of his beloved Dog, “Yoda.”
“It is truly an inspirational and moving conversation with a man who has had such an impact on the RV industry,” says show host Mark Summers. “Beyond his philosophies, insights and experiences, Brian shares some of the most meaningful moments in his life – moments that we can all learn from.
As Brawdy travels across the country in his Lance Camper he carries with him a personal philosophy that we would all benefit from carrying: “Believe in the ability to do anything in life… your exploration is your own.”
The second of a three-part exclusive interview with Brian Brawdy is LIVE online for viewing now.
In part two of the series, Brian Brawdy talks about his experiences RVing across America. Beyond the technology, toys and RVs, Brawdy shares insights and experiences with humanity that have changed his life.
"You can prepare all you want before an interview," says show host Mark Summers, "But what happens in the moment is always a surprise. With each part of this series Brian shares and inspires more than I would ever have imagined."
The first of a three-part exclusive interview with Brian Brawdy is LIVE for viewing now.
Brian Brawdy, a nationally known conservationist, travels across North America in his Lance Camper, which is equipped with a host of eco-friendly devices including solar panels, satellite dishes and wind turbines. His fascinating lifestyle and personal history make for a great story – a story that RV Buddies had to bring to their audience. Referred to as "Eco-Brian" or the "Green RVer", the former undercover cop turned outdoor adventure expert is making a difference in both how the rest of us RV today and how the industry is being shaped for the future.
While Brawdy is much in-demand for interviews on television networks nationwide, in most interviews he usually discusses his passion for the outdoors. RV Buddies had the opportunity to sit with him and dig deeper for over an hour of video – covering his lifestyle, adventures and much more. The interview features some of the most candid conversation Brawdy has ever had on video. RV Buddies has taken the best of the interview and is presenting it in three parts over the next three weeks.
"We're proud to call Brian Brawdy an RV Buddy," says show host Mark Summers, "His life and mission are both inspirational and moving."

It also captures and stores rainwater for use later as fresh, sanitary water. At first glance, it may seem RVing is hard on the environment. “It’s not,” says Brawdy. “I’m sharing my Green RV to make this point.” Brawdy also says that he already sees other RVers at local campgrounds doing a big part to conserve water and electricity, recycle and buy paper items over plastic. “We can all do a little more. And a little from all of us is all it takes,” says Brawdy. Brawdy, 47, grew up in Syracuse, N.Y., where he was a police officer for nine years. Referred to as an ‘Outdoor Adventure Expert,’ “Environmental Pioneer’ and ‘Eco-RVer’ he has inspired audiences during appearances on Good Morning America, Fox News, CNN, CBS Early News, ABC, CBS and FOX.

Returning this Friday to the Fairplex in Pomona, California, RV enthusiasts from all over the southwest look forward to this show every year. The show is slated to show the newest products the industy has to offer.
The 57th Annual California RV Show, sponsored by the Recreation Vehicle Industry Association (RVIA), will kick off Friday (Oct. 16) at the Fairplex in Pomona, Calif., offering consumers access to the newest and best in RVs and RV products.
Set to run through Oct. 25, the California RV Show is the largest consumer show on the West Coast, according to RVIA Express.
This year’s show theme is “It’s All About Fun” and highlights that with an RV you take your resort with you. With many American families looking to save money on vacations, show promoters have been working to highlight the fact that RVing is still less expensive than flying or driving, staying in hotels and eating in restaurants. RVing also provides quality family time.
Seminars at the show will help attendees select the right RV and provide tips for full timing and extended RV travel.
One of the most popular seminars from previous shows that will be continued this year is ”Yes, You Can Drive an RV,” while ”green” RVer and RVIA media spokesman Brian Brawdy also will be featured in a special green camping display at the center of the show.
“Despite the tough economic conditions, I think we are going to have a wonderful show,” said Marsha McInnis, RVIA’s Western Region show director. “Enthusiasm is high among exhibitors and consumers alike.”
The show’s website, www.carvshow.com, continues to be a popular place for RVers to visit and find show information as well as tips on how RVers are adjusting to higher fuel costs, how driving an RV is different but not difficult, how RVs have less of a carbon footprint than air/hotel travel, and more – all designed to support RV sales and show attendance.

Michigan-based Thetford Corporation will promote Michigan and the importance of an eco-friendly lifestyle at the annual meeting of the Outdoor Writers Association of America (OWAA) in Grand Rapids, Michigan.
Nearly 500 outdoor writers and editors representing magazines, newspapers and broadcast outlets throughout the United States and Canada are expected to attend the four-day program (June 13-16) at the Amway Plaza Hotel.
“Hunters and fisherman are becoming more and more environmentally conscious,” notes Mary Burrows, an environmental spokesperson for Thetford. “We’ve seen a significant demand for ‘green’ products that can be used by campers and recreational-vehicle owners.”
Thetford will host two panel discussions at the conference. The first panel will include representatives from the Michigan Association of RV and Campgrounds and focus on RVing in Michigan. A second panel will feature nationally-recognized “Green RVer” Brian Brawdy and Burrows, who also serves as manager of chemical development at Thetford.
An outdoor adventure expert and environmental pioneer, Brawdy has appeared on CNN, Fox News, ABC, CBS, NBC, WGN Television and Fox. Kevin Phillips, Thetford’s vice president of sales and marketing, will moderate both panel discussions.
The world’s leading supplier of sanitation and refrigeration products for the recreational vehicle and marine industries, Thetford recently introduced a line of “green” RV care products, including a variety of special cleansers and stain removers.
Safe for humans and the environment, Thetford’s new eco-friendly products meet rigorous Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) and Design for the Environment (DfE) criteria without sacrificing product performance.
“Because our cleansers are used outdoors, they’ve been designed to meet the more stringent criteria developed by the EPA for this type of product,” Burrows explains. “Developed and tested in our research laboratories in Ann Arbor, Thetford cleaners offer a tenfold improvement in degree of safety compared to DfE criteria for household cleaners, yet they still have powerful cleaning action.”
The company also has introduced a full line of powerful deodorant products for use in boats and RVs under its EcoSmart® brand name that carry third-party EcoLogo certification.
“Thetford is committed to developing high-quality ‘green’ products for use by boaters, RVers and individuals with active outdoor lifestyles,” Burrows adds. “We will continue to work closely with the EPA and EcoLogo to produce environmentally-responsible products in the future.”
Thetford’s new lines of cleaners, stain removers and deodorants will be on display at the OWAA conference in Grand Rapids.
A privately-held company with eight manufacturing facilities in four nations, Thetford is headquartered in Ann Arbor, Michigan. Thetford subsidiaries include Norcold, America’s leading producer of gas-absorption refrigerators and freezers for the RV, marine and truck industries; Tecma, a producer of fine-china toilets and powerful waste-transfer systems based in Italy, and Spinflo, a unit based in England that manufactures high-quality cooking-and-heating appliances and accessories.
Upcoming separate segments featuring Mary Burrows and Brian Brawdy will be seen exclusively on RV Buddies. Further information on Thetford is available at Thetford.com.
